The debates

Public and professionals gave their views about alcohol at two Big Drink Debates in Oxford and Maidstone in November 2009.

The debates were chaired by presenter and broadcaster Nicky Campbell with panel representatives from the NHS, police, alcohol industry and consumer bodies participating in the audience debate.  Debate topics included the drinking culture in the South East, what action should be taken to reduce alcohol consumption and when is it acceptable to drink excessively.

A full report outlining findings from the debates and research is available on this website.
